I once purchased a BluRay player from someone on EBay . It was listed as a brand new item . So when it showed up in the box and I opened it . I quickly realized it was NOT brand new . It was covered in dust and the seller didn’t even put it back in its original packaging to try to show the illusion that it was new . I emailed the seller and she said “I barely used it , so it’s like new . I cut and pasted EBay’s definition of new and sent it back to her . She would not accept the return . I obviously opened a case with eBay and got my money back . Plus I got to keep the Blu-ray which I still have 8 years later . Moral : be honest. Lying on EBay will never end well for you .

Hi Joey - great video and 100% correct for returning the Series X back to the seller.. even with the seller attempting to not accept the return. You are completely within your rights to return ANY item purchased on eBay that is not as described for a full refund - even those listed as "faulty, no returns". By the way, the Xbox One S with the E100 - to me that is likely to be a swapped motherboard (from a standard Xbox One S with Optical Drive) as the E100 00000703 80910002 is likely a pairing issue with the mobo and optical drive. To double-check, plug the HDD that you have attempted to rebuild into your PC and browse to the System Support partition, then open the 0.log file - if there is a log relating to a NAND and mismatch error then that mobo has been swapped from a One S optical edition - if so, I would also return that one to the eBay seller too!!

Wonder if its Vape residue.. It will get deep inside electronics, rust them out, and then the residue will slowly seep out when its led on its side or upside down. My friends sky box was leaking vape juice residue when turned upside down after years of heavy vaping.

Imagine that there was once an era with eBay where cases like this one would not be able to be refunded. Mind blowing.

Funny thing with ebay, listings marked as no returns, can be returned. I had a buyer send me back a console saying it didnt work, they went through customer services and it automatically did a return at my postage costs. when i got it back, it was fully working but the seller wouldnt reply. customer service said i should relist it and add the cost of postage to the buy it now cost. But yours is a drfinate return, i just wish you would post the sellers name somewhere so we can avoid these people.

Joey, do you normally use that drive for osu1? I've noticed weird behavior with OSU on different media. Also, the install doesn't like it if the drive with OSU installed has any partitions besides the primary, including any that aren't active. Disk manager should only show one partition and and empty space if applicable

I finally restocked up on broken consoles to work on. I spent $90 on 2 ps2 phats, 1 atari 2600, 1 xbox og, 1 wii u, and 2 xbox 360s, and a mk trilogy 64 cart. Most are supposed to be easy fixes cept for the wii u that has the 0101 error, but i will try voulrars pico soluation to see if i can get it working again,

That eBay seller was an absolute chancer. I've never lost an eBay case because, when you put the points simply to the seller, their replies tell you they knew all along what was going on. They always hope on selling to a mug or someone who's weak. Remember, we've all got rights and protections as customers. If someone tries to scam you, force the return and make them pay for the return postage also.

good luck if you had to go through ebay for a refund, they are pretty spotty about dealing with it, and once they close the transaction you wont get any help from them- they will just tell you to contact the seller (no matter how scammy the seller is)

Ebay scams eh. Just as an FYI vapes don't contain any tar, tobacco does though. The "smoke" you see when people vape is actually water vapour, steam, caused by the vape liquid being atomised.

That first console was a right disaster. Only way of getting any sort of resolution was a "item not as described" case.

Am really glad you dug in with eBay and did not just accept the first decision as it was very water damaged and had been for while judging by the rust build up, clearly a chancer, it Shame really that nothing was saveable but clearly that Xbox was ewaste and worth nothing

The One S' error looks like missing/mismatched dvd drive. Someone could've put different motherboard there My theory is that someone put junk parts together (like unusable motherboard and bad condition chassis) and sold it.
